[Imageworld] Position for a post-doctoral researcher

Announcement of a Research/Software Development Position

We announce a one-year position for a post-doctoral researcher or final year
Ph.D. student 
in the area of image processing. The position is financed by the Austrian
Research Funds FFG and FWF (the latter through the Wittgenstein Award of Prof.
Peter Markowich). The job description centers on designing, implementing and
testing innovative software –based on nonlinear partial differential equations-
for the processing and analysis of high resolution digital images. An extension
of the contract period is highly likely, contingent on the success of the
project. 
Necessary prerequisites are experience in basic mathematical/numerical methods
for digital image processing, basic knowledge of partial differential equations,
experience with Windows and MAC operating systems and programming skills. The
starting date should be as soon as possible, the salary is in line with FWF
postdoc/predoc  payment rules.
