2 Fixed Term Posts in Computer Vision (Posts A and B)=20

At Cortexica, we are applying cortical models of visual computation to =
large-scale problems in artificial vision and machine perception. We are =
inviting applications for two key software development positions, =
initially on a fixed term contract but with the expectation of =
converting to full-time employee status on successful completion of the =
contract objectives. The posts are in the area of object recognition, =
video indexing and computer vision. Applicants should have a good first =
degree (1st or 2(i)) in a relevant engineering or computer science =
discipline. In addition, we are looking for the following profiles for =
each post:

Post A: A PhD in computer vision, machine learning or image analysis.

Post B: 2+ years track record of software development in a commercial =
environment, preferably in image analysis or games programming.

=20

The work will involve the development and/or porting of =
biologically-inspired algorithms for object recognition onto parallel =
hardware, and the optimisation of those algorithms to meet the needs of =
commercial partners.=20

The successful applicants must have good communication skills, and the =
ability to work as part of a joint academic and commercial team. The =
successful applicant will also be expected to demonstrate strong =
programming competence in C/C++ and/or Matlab, and a clear ability to =
document code rigorously. Experience of working on large datasets will =
be an advantage.



Cortexica is a spinout company from Imperial College focused on bringing =
neuronal models of visual processing and focus of attention to =
commercial applications. The successful applicants will be based on the =
main campus in South Kensington.
