As a result of funding under the Cognitive Systems, Interaction, Robotics
Programme of the EC 7th Framework Programme (FP7-ICT), we are seeking a
Research Assistant (RA) to work alongside an existing RA on a high profile
international research and development project.
The Co-FRIEND project aims to design a framework for understanding human
activities in real environments (airport aprons), through an artificial
cognitive vision system, identifying objects and events, and extracting
sense from scene observation. The project will employ computational
vision techniques for multicamera robust object (people and vehicle)
detection and tracking, event detection and scene understanding.
You will have:
- a strong scientific background educated to PhD or have similar research
experience
- programming skills in C++ and be able to demonstrate a knowledge of
techniques in image processing/computer vision
- the ability to work independently or as part of a team with academic
and commercial partners to achieve goals within tight time constraints
- the ability to demonstrate enthusiasm about state of the art research,
development and technology translation towards commercial vision systems
