Job Opening: Sr. Product Manager, Imaging and Statistics

As product manager, you will lead the specification and design of
Accelrys' imaging and statistics software products for the
pharmaceutical, biotechnology, agrochemical, and chemical industries.
You will guide the development of products leveraging Accelrys'
industry leading Pipeline Pilot platform based on your industry
experience and your contact with customers and prospects. You must
possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture
vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy
spending time in the market to understand their problems, and find
innovative solutions for the broader market.

Responsibilities

·        Guide the R&D team in building products that address critical
problems related to image data analysis, image data management, and
statistics.

·        Provide leadership within the organization, effectively
communicate customer needs, and drive projects to completion

·        Train the sales force to effectively sell your products

·        Work with Industry Marketing and Marketing Communication
teams to produce effective marketing materials, and assist in the
planning of seminars and user group meetings

·        Make build versus buy decisions; identify high potential
partners and products, and initiate in-licensing partnerships

·        Create a competitive analysis and communicate this to the organization

Requirements

·        Familiarity with image processing algorithm, statistical
analysis methods, and general data management tools.

·        Familiarity with product life cycle management

·        Product marketing experience, preferably with highly
technical or scientific software products a plus.  Experience in the
pharmaceutical sector is a plus.

·        Some knowledge of chemistry and an aptitude to learn
molecular modeling visualization and simulation applications a plus

·        A self-starter with strong organizational skills, leadership
abilities, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects
and drive projects to completion

·        Ability to build relationships and work well in teams

·        MS or Ph.D. degree

·        Ability to travel up to 25%
