Research Position in Scene Interpretation
at the Cognitive Systems Laboratory, Department of Informatics,
University of Hamburg
Applications are requested for a research position (29,25 hours per
week) in the EU-funded project "Co-Friend (Cognitive and flexible
learning system operating robust interpretation of extended real
scenes by multi-sensors datafusion)". The contract will be from 5/09
until 1/2011.
The Cognitive Systems Laboratory at the University of Hamburg has a
long-standing record of leading-edge research in Computer Vision and
Artificial Intelligence. One of our focus areas is scene
interpretation and the connection of vision processes with
common-sense knowledge. Here we look for a researcher with a strong
background in knowledge representation, probabilistic models and
learning. The goal is to develop the scientific foundations for
monitoring and understanding ground traffic in airport scenes.
Work will be carried out in close cooperation with other members of
the team at the Cognitive Systems Laboratory and with international
partners in Co-Friend.
Hamburg is one of the most beautiful towns in Germany which offers
all attractions of a metropolitan city while retaining a natural and
lovely environment. The salary amounts to ca. 2500 EUR per month with
a 11% increase after the first year.
Applicants must have an above-average university degree in Computer
Science and competence in Artificial Intelligence, preferably also
Scene Interpretation.
