Research Job: Computer Scientist (Modeling and Visualization)
Multimodal Analysis Lab, Interactive & Digital Media Institute (IDMI),

Research Areas:   Multimodal analysis of video, audio and text, video
processing and search, user interfaces.
  
Job Description:   The Multimodal Analysis Lab in the Interactive Digital
Media Institute (IDMI) at the National University of Singapore has immediate
openings for computer scientists to develop software tools for multimodal
analysis and manipulation of multimedia data. The application software being
developed will be similar to an application for editing text, pictures,
sound, and video. The successful applicants will have demonstrated
knowledge, abilities and skills required to develop simple intuitive
graphical user interfaces for manipulating, annotating, analysing and
searching multimedia data, with a focus on the computational modeling and
visualization of multidimensional data. Applicants must to be able to work
in English-speaking interdisciplinary research team to design and develop
flexible, extensible object oriented code.

Requirements / Pre-requisites:

·      The candidate should have an MA or PhD or equivalent in the field of
computer science or a related area.
·      Excellent academic record, publication list and/or industry
experience appropriate to the level of appointment.
·      Experience with C/C++ and scripting programming languages, e.g.
Tcl\Tk,Python, Ruby or similar.
·      GUI programming experience and understanding of event-driven
programming.
·      Strong experience in multidimensional modeling, visualisation and
image/video processing in academic research as well as practical
development.
·      Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems.
·      The candidate should possess good communication skills in English,
and be willing to work as part of an interdisciplinary research team.
