Call for Special Session Proposals

The 17th International Conference on Multimedia Modeling (MMM 2011) welcomes
proposals for special sessions. Each special session consists of about 5
papers. Special session organizers are expected to submit a proposal by June 7,
2010 to the Special Session Co-Chairs Tao Mei (tmei[AT]microsoft.com) and
Hui-Huang Hsu (huihuanghsu[AT]gmail.com).
Special sessions in the area of large-scale multimedia retrieval, mobile
multimedia computing, and social media applications are of particular interest,
but topics in other multimedia areas are also very welcome. The proposal
should include the following information:
- Tentative title of the proposed special session
- Names and affiliations of the organizers (including brief bio and contact info)
- Session abstract (statement of the significance of topic)
- List of potential contributors (together with tentative paper titles) who
agree to submit a paper if the proposal is accepted
Proposals will be evaluated based on the timeliness and significance of the
topic, as well as the qualifications of the organizers and quality of papers in
the proposed session. Notification of acceptance of special session will be
sent by June 24, 2010. Special session papers should be submitted through the
regular submission system. Special session organizers will be responsible for
managing the review of the papers submitted to their proposed special sessions.

- Special session proposal due: June 7, 2010
- Special session acceptance: June 24, 2010
- Special session paper due: Aug. 16, 2010
