*Academic Positions in Medical Image Analysis and High Performance
Computing at the Australian National University*
The ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science is offering up to
two Level B academic positions in the area of Medical Image Analysis
(MIA) and High Performance Computing (HPC). The appointments are related
to research projects partly funded by the Australian Research Council
(ARC) and Microsoft Research. The projects are multidisciplinary and
involve high performance and parallel computing in medical image
analysis with applications to ultrasound modelling, surgical simulation,
and real-time multi-modality registration for intraoperative
applications. The high performance platform of choice is a cluster of
graphics processing units (GPUs) used for massively parallel processing.
The positions are open to early career candidates with post-doctoral
experience and/or recent PhD graduates in Engineering and Computer
Science with an outstanding research record and publications in the MIA
or HPC. Students who are close to completion of their PhD will also be
considered. The positions have the benefit of being research-intensive
and present a significant opportunity for early career researchers to
focus on building their research and publication portfolio and be
involved in co-supervision of higher degree research students.
