and look for the position: Postdoctoral Fellow - Computer Vision
Scientist (CEMR393)

This position will provide support to the WVU team for conducting
research activities in the area of computer vision for robotics. The
incumbent will research, design and develop advanced image exploitation
algorithms for the development of On-Orbit Satellite Servicing, set
operational specifications and analyze the development of space
qualified multisensory data acquisition, apply statistical pattern
recognition and machine learning tools to develop new computer vision
techniques for the real-time processing of data (including video) that
will demonstrate on-line and off-line robotic operations.

The WVU-NASA Robotics Center is collaborating with the space agency's
Goddard facility to develop software and tools, such as robotic hands
that will service existing NASA satellites. The Robotics center houses
university faculty, researchers, students and professionals. The space
agency began working with WVU researchers 10 years ago, when they helped
develop more lightweight and affordable structures to carry high-tech
equipment into space. The facility is expected to grow by getting people
from other institutions and industries to work on projects that are
vital to future space missions.
