Sigmavision is a young and dynamic business operating in the laser vision
industry and is based in Oxford, UK.  The company develops and integrates
laser measurement solutions in global industrial markets, particularly
rubber and tyre manufacturing.  Continued success requires two appointments
to be made.



1)    Project / Systems Engineer

Location: Oxford, UK

Competitive salary depending on experience



The role

Manage design and build projects from start to finish involving client /
supplier liaison, system assembly, testing and commissioning.  Contribute to
product development involving controls engineering, interfacing vision
systems with industrial robots and implementing closed loop control with
production equipment. Frequent overseas travel required for system
commissioning and customer support.



The person

·         Educated to degree / diploma level in Controls, Electrical or
Electronics Engineering

·         2+ years “hands on” experience in an automation or process control
environment involving software, hardware and control systems.

·         Experienced designer of systems utilising, servo’s, actuators,
electric slides, pneumatic controls, single and 3 phase motors and
inverters, conveyors, relay logic circuits, hydraulic control systems and
sensors

·         Good understanding of mechanical systems design and implementation

·         Familiar with communication protocols eg Ethernet (UDP, TCP), RS232,
RS485, field busses

·         Skilled problem-solver with ability to communicate and build
customer relationships at all levels

·         Full driving licence

·         Direct experience of industrial vision systems would be a distinct
advantage.

2)    Software Engineer

Location: Oxford, UK

Competitive salary depending on experience

The role

Responsible for vision system algorithm development, HMI design and
development, system debugging and testing.  Supporting PC hardware
development. Customer and supplier technical support.



The person

·         Educated to degree / diploma level in Maths, Computer Science or
Electronics Engineering

·         2+ years “hands on” experience in an automation or process control
environment involving the implementation of machine vision solutions.

·         Detailed knowledge of and experience with C++, Matlab,
VisualStudio, .NET

·         Use of embedded and /or mobile,  Windows ™ and Linux/Unix based
operating systems

·         Familiar with communication protocols eg Ethernet (UDP, TCP), RS232,
RS485

·         Skilled problem-solver with ability to communicate and build
customer relationships at all levels

·         Direct experience of industrial laser measurement systems would be
a distinct advantage
