Siemens Molecular Imaging (SMI) is a pioneer in the development of new medical scanners, imaging techniques & applications. The software written in Oxford processes the images from SPECT, PET and CT scanners and enables doctors to visualise the biology of diseases such as cancer, heart disease and dementia. Currently we have a pre-development internship available in the Science and Technology team (STT) within SMI whose role is the definition, pre-development, and evaluation of advanced image processing solutions for our software portfolio. During the internship, clinical prototypes shall be developed that integrate novel algorithms developed either on-site or externally. The resulting applications shall be evaluated in collaboration with internal an external partners with respect to user interface experience, clinical workflow, etc. and are used as basis to test and improve utilized imaging techniques.
